My Avon Rep sent me a few bottles of theAvons Gel Finish Nail Enamel to try out and give some honest feedback. Avon has had their Gel Finish Nail Enamel on the market for awhile now but this is my first time going it a try. If you havent tried it yet, here is what I think about the Gel Finish.
Avon states that the 7 in 1 polishprovidesthe following:
- Gel-like Finish
- Vivid Color
- Base Coat
- Top Coat
My avon Rep sent me Very Berry, Parfait Pink and Glimmer.I liked the color selection and the idea of the "7 in 1 but the Gel Finish doesnt necessarily score a 10 in my book and here is why.
You have to let each coat dry completely before adding another coat. When I say completely I mean with no lamp. It took almost an hour to harden and even then I dented them a little.Alsousing just one coat isnt going to cut it because it leaves a bit of a streaky lookso you have to apply at least two coats.
I found that each polishwent on a bit different that could be due to the differences informulas. The Glimmer polish was the one that actually went on the smoothest, providing the most coverage on the first coatbut I didnt find this color to be super shinylike gels typically are.The shiniest polish was the ParfaitPink. Both the Parfait Pink and Very Berry weren't as long lasting as I would have likedcompared to your typical salon gelshellac or OPI but it did last almost a week with afew touch ups towards the end of the week.
The Very Berry definitely needs a separate base coat. After removing the polish, my nails were stained and it was a challenge getting them back to their natural color. The pigments were very vivid.I think they still need a top coat because after a day or two the color seems to get a little dull.
Over all I enjoyed the colors and the fact that the polish seemedslightly more durable thanthe average. I could foresee trying different colors from Avon in the future but I wouldmost certainly use a separate Base Coat and Top Coat. The Gel Finish line is $7 per bottle. You can order from an Avon Rep.Below are several photos from my test!
